I was in Barnes & Noble’s last month. They had coloring books on sale. I grabbed one for a little girl I know…I’m waiting in line to pay and start leafing through and see complicated designs and very intricate drawings…flowers, not big fat ones-exquisetely-detailed ones – certainly not for a nine year old! I asked the cashier-she said, “oh, you want a children’s coloring book, this is for an adult!”
I went back to that adult comic book sale section…it even said Adult Coloring books. It never occurred to me to check! A coloring book is for kids, of course…Then, I read that there’s a resurgence of coloring in adults! So, that nice” mom” buying the crayolas may be buying them for herself. It’s estimated adults are 20-25% likely to be the users.
I loved to color and colored with children I babysat. Now, not so much. I use markers for my vision boards…but, I’m very intrigued. I’m going back & get an adult one-an early Christmas present! Please share your coloring history.
